Visualization of trajectories in a grid layout and a single trajectory in stereoscopic 3D display. (A) Trajectories of seed harvester ants juxtaposed in a grid layout. The trajectories can also be grouped according to the experimental condition under which they were collected. In this example, the grid contains trajectories of ants captured east of the colony’s main foraging trail. A coordinated paintbrush tool (top right) along with a temporal filter (top center) can be used to visually test hypotheses corresponding to spatiotemporal behavioral patterns exhibited in the trajectories. (B) Each cell visualizes a single trajectory in stereoscopic 3D display to illustrate spatial and temporal features in the trajectory.
